We use actual oregano, rather than added flavors or extracts. It belongs to the mintfamily and is typically used to season savory dishes—in our case, from meats to beans to salsas.

Oregano was almost unknown in the U.S. until WWII, when American soldiers stationed in Italy liked it and brought it back after the war—thus securing our flavorful freedoms, one pizza at a time.
